What’s the objective?

‘To show our guests how easy it is to be active in any situation!’ says Wolfgang Peer, the man behind the Pirchner Hof’s personalised exercise, activity and regeneration programmes. His expertise and many years of experience as an athlete and trainer allow him to take an innovative, holistic approach – following in the tradition of Hildegard von Bingen, who believed the right amount of exercise to be essential for a fulfilled and healthy life. Naturally, this affects the work–life balance we hear so much about today.

This isn’t about pushing yourself to become an elite athlete – just a few minutes of gentle exercise every day can mobilise the joints, tendons and muscles and prevent painful tension and stiffness.

  • Aqua Fit:
    Mobilise, strengthen and stretch your muscles with gentle exercises in the purifying element of water.

  • Back exercises:
    Ease back pain and prevent spinal problems. These exercises mobilise, strengthen and stretch the spine and surrounding muscles.

  • Foot fitness:
    Exercises improve balance and pronation, helping to prevent foot-related problems and misalignments.

More than 20 years’ experience in skiing, sport and fitness make all the difference!

Watching Wolfgang as he trains with his guests, it’s clear that he loves nothing more than passing on his knowledge of movement, sport, fitness and health. During his 20 years as a coach for the Tyrolean Ski Association – and his time as a ski racer securing top results at the World Championships, European Championships, Olympic Games and World Cup – he has gained a wealth of knowledge about human nature and profound insights into balanced, healthy training. Our vitality programme builds on this knowledge with its activities indoors at the Pirchner Hof and outdoors in the Alpbach Valley. Wolfgang uses his wide-ranging qualifications and expertise to promote holistic training with specific focal points which can be tailored to the needs of individual guests.

  • As a state certified Alpine ski coach and mountain bike guide, he leads guests safely through the unpredictable mountains of the Alpbachtal, both in summer and winter, expertly assessing each guest’s condition on a particular day, identifying any minor weaknesses, and familiarising them with the technology and sporting equipment they are using. This allows him to react quickly to any issues that may arise.

  • Only the right relationship between activity and relaxation leads to inner balance and enables fundamental regeneration. As a state-certified Aqua Fit instructor and Smovey coach, Wolfgang takes this into account and has developed an appropriate regeneration and prevention programme.

  • After such an active career, Wolfgang wants to focus on helping others to enjoy exercise. Enjoyment is often curbed by musculoskeletal pain. As a state-certified back therapy coach, he helps programme participants to improve their everyday motor skills, counteract postural defects and boost their general back health.

  • Wolfgang Peer uses the Dorn spinal therapy method to gently treat spinal and joint blockages. Combined with energetic back massages, this gives the intervertebral discs more room and allows them to regenerate effectively.
