You want to leave the car at the hotel and visit a lake on foot? The Reither See is only a few minutes’ walk from the Hotel Pirchnerhof. The so-called “Blaue Auge von Reith” offers families, among other things, a large sunbathing lawn, a paddling pool and a children’s play area and, in addition to cool refreshment, invites you to take a leisurely walk with a view of the lake.
Lying north-east of the hotel and about 10 km away, the landscape suddenly changes. Due to the ice tongues of prehistoric times, small round hills have formed here and created the Reintaler Seenplatte. It is part of the Tyrolean Lake District and impresses with Frauensee, Buchensee, Krummsee and Reintalersee, which are located near the valley as well as at the foot of the Rofan mountain range. Due to the special location, the sunlight is very high and heats up the water of the lakes considerably. Look forward to swimming and splashing around in Tyrol’s warmest bathing lakes as well as rowing or a stand-up paddle tour. The Reintaler See, the largest of the four lakes, is ideal for trips on the water. A very special bathing experience is offered by the Berglsteiner See, romantically situated in an idyllic natural oasis. On the shores lined with forest and reeds, there are some dreamy places to lie down and rest.
Our insider tip: The often forgotten Zireiner See is located at 1799 m above sea level in the Brandenberg Alps and is arguably the lake jewel of the Alpbach Valley and well worth a hike.
