Snowshoeing: Our tour tips

  • Pinegg – Brandenberg: This easy, 6.5-kilometer tour starts at the Gwercherwirt in Pinegg, leads over a bridge towards Kaiserhaus/Kaiserklamm along the Brandenberger Ache and back to the starting point at the Kaiserhaus/Ellbach junction.

  • Snowshoeing on the Reither Kogel: This easy, 2.9-kilometre hike starts at the Reitherkogelbahn mountain station and leads along the Juppi Zauberwald trail to the Hinterkogelhof farm with its stunning views. Continue between farms up to the Fürstenhof and from there turn left back to the mountain station.

  • Greiter Graben – Inneralpbach: The 7.1-kilometre, moderately difficult tour starts at the Inneralpbach parking lot and takes you along ski route 66 into the valley. From the Forsterstraße, the route runs along the stream to the Greiter Alm, loops over a bridge back to the Alm and follows the familiar path 303 meters uphill back to the starting point.

  • Hösljoch snowshoe hike: This 4.3-kilometre, moderately difficult hike leads above the Oberthaler snack station via the Marienweg to the Hösljoch chapel, from where you can see the Großer Galtenberg. The trail continues on farmland heights over a sunny plateau towards Schatzberg and over the Zottaalm back 240 meters in altitude to the starting point.

Winter hiking: Our tour tips

  • Mittlerer Höhenweg – Alpbach: The 13-kilometre, moderately difficult tour starts in the center of Alpbach and leads via the sunny side to Inneralpbach and via the shady side back to the starting point.

  • Waldtalweg – Breitenbach: The start of the 10-kilometre circular hike is the village center of Breitenbach. Head north via the Kämpferkapelle chapel to Gasthof Krämerwirt and follow the path through meadows to the Grattauwald forest and back to the village center via various hiking trails.

  • Matzenpark – Reith im Alpbachtal: From the village center, the 5.1 km long, easy circular tour leads past hotels, the Nattschattenhof and the Jägershäusl directly into the Matzenpark. From there it is 126 meters uphill and back to the starting point.
