Via ferratas

Via ferratas in Tyrol offer a variety of climbing experiences in stunning scenery. From easier routes that are suitable for beginners and families to demanding passages for experienced adventurers, there is a suitable challenge for everyone in Alpbachtal and the surrounding area.

  • Reintalersee via ferrata: 15 minutes by car from the Hotel Pirchnerhof, you will find one of the most beautiful via ferrata routes in Tyrol at Reintalersee in Kramsach.After a short ascent from the parking lot, you reach the two routes (difficulty levels C/D and E) with a rope length of approx. 250 meters. The view becomes more impressive with every meter that the via ferrata leads upwards. The view constantly falls back to the magnificent Reintalersee, which invites you to cool off and swim after the tour.

  • Kaiserklamm via ferrata: Located in the impressive Kaiserklamm, a gorge near Brandenberg, this via ferrata offers an adventurous route through the gorge. It is suitable for advanced climbers.

  • Zireiner See via ferrata: This route leads to the picturesque Zireiner See lake and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. It is technically demanding and is aimed at experienced climbers.

  • Achensee via ferrata: Located near Lake Achensee, this tour offers a mixture of beautiful views and technical challenges. It is suitable for climbing enthusiasts of different levels of experience, with routes ranging from easy to difficult.

  • 5-summit via ferrata in the Rofan Mountains: The 5-summit via ferrata in the central Rofan Mountains on Lake Achensee, the largest lake in Tyrol, is very impressive. The Rofan cable car can be reached in just 15 minutes by car.This via ferrata circuit is made up of ferrata passages and beautiful mountain meadows. It is suitable for everyone, as the length of the tour can be determined individually and either the entire 800 vertical meters or only a partial passage can be covered.

Climbing gardens

Whether you are just new to climbing or already have experience in the sport – the region around Alpbachtal has plenty to offer for everyone with its climbing gardens.

  • Kramsach climbing garden: The Kramsach climbing garden in Tyrol is known for its variety of routes and levels of difficulty. It offers ideal conditions for beginners and families, as well as challenging routes for advanced climbers.

  • Reith im Alpbachtal climbing garden: This climbing garden is particularly popular with families and beginners as it offers easy to moderately difficult routes in a beautiful setting. Its proximity to the village of Reith and our hotel makes it easily accessible.

  • Brandenberg climbing garden: Brandenberg offers a varied climbing garden with routes of different levels of difficulty. The rocks here are known for their good quality and interesting climbing techniques.

  • Zillertal climbing garden: The Zillertal, also nearby, is known worldwide for its climbing offer and offers numerous climbing gardens and routes for all levels of difficulty. Although not located directly in the Alpbachtal, it attracts many nature enthusiasts from the region.

  • Sectors on the Rofan: The various sectors in the Rofan mountains offer climbing routes in high alpine surroundings, which are particularly interesting for experienced athletes. The views and the challenge at this altitude are unique.

  • Achensee climbing garden: We would also like to recommend the climbing garden at the picturesque Achensee. It offers a wide range of routes for all levels of experience and impressive views of Tyrol’s largest lake.

Bouldering

Bouldering is extremely versatile. Whether indoors or outdoors – climbing without a rope and at jump height promises exciting experiences and the opportunity to test your own limits.

  • Achensee bouldering area: There are several bouldering spots near Lake Achensee that offer impressive scenery and a variety of challenges. The quality of the rock and the scenic beauty make bouldering here a special experience

  • Zillertal bouldering area: The Zillertal, known for its outstanding climbing and bouldering areas, offers a variety of bouldering opportunities in a natural setting. Although it is not located directly in Alpbachtal, its quality and variety make it absolutely worthwhile.

  • Bouldering hall Wörgl: For days when the weather doesn’t cooperate, the bouldering hall in Wörgl offers an excellent alternative. With different levels of difficulty and regularly changing routes, there is always plenty of variety.

  • Innsbruck & surrounding area: Although Innsbruck is some distance away (approx. 40-minute drive), we would like to recommend the city because of its world-famous bouldering halls and outdoor bouldering spots. The region offers some of the best conditions for bouldering in all of Europe.

  • Bouldering areas in Alpbachtal: There are smaller bouldering spots right in Alpbachtal in Tyrol, but these are mainly known to local climbers and are not as extensively documented as the larger areas in the surrounding area. Perhaps you would like to explore them on your own as an advanced climber?

High ropes courses

Would you like to experience the beautiful Tyrolean landscape from a completely new perspective? High ropes courses are ideal for team-building activities, family outings or simply for an active day in the great outdoors.

  • Kramsach high ropes course: This high ropes course is just 15 minutes by car from our hotel and is located near the Reintalersee lake. It offers a variety of courses with different levels of difficulty.

  • Achensee Adventure Park: This is one of the largest climbing parks in Tyrol and offers numerous courses and zip lines above the trees. The high ropes course is known for its breathtaking views of Lake Achensee and the surrounding mountains.

  • Zillertal high ropes course: There is a high ropes course in nearby Zillertal, which impresses with its diverse climbing elements and courses.

  • Waldseilpark Fulpmes in the Stubai Valley: Although a little further away (approx. 45 minutes), we would also like to recommend a visit to the Waldseilpark Fulpmes in the Stubai Valley.

Climbing gym

If the weather is not that good or you want to work specifically on your skills, you can visit a climbing gym in the region.

  • Reith im Alpbachtal climbing gym: The Reith climbing hall with routes of difficulty levels 4-9 is located in the immediate vicinity of our hotel.

  • Wörgl climbing gym: The climbing hall in Wörgl is one of the largest in the region and offers a variety of routes of all levels of difficulty. It has a large bouldering area as well as areas for rope climbing.

  • Innsbruck Climbing Center: The Innsbruck Climbing Center is one of the most modern and largest climbing gyms in the world. It offers an enormous selection of climbing and bouldering walls for all levels.

  • Kundl climbing gym: This hall also offers a good mix of climbing and bouldering areas. It is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and offers courses and events for children and adults.

  • Jenbach climbing gym: The climbing hall in Jenbach is another option for climbers in the Tyrolean lowlands. It is characterized by a range of routes with different levels of difficulty and a separate bouldering area.
